Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Title IX legislation signed into law by Richard Nixon in June 1972. Philip Baker Hall died on Sunday at the age of 90. An actor for decades with small roles on Broadway, in movies and on television, Mr. Hall is probably best known for his role as the acerbic New York City Library cop, Joe Bookman, from an episode of the sitcom, Seinfeld.
Monday was a gorgeous day here. The temperature was a moderate 80 degrees with complete sunshine and no humidity, the perfect spring day. I was out exercising during the day and as I walked home, the garbage truck was stopped across the street.
